What values and benefits does our model provide?
Disciple Making Ministries seeks to follow the New Testament's mission, model, method and movement for finishing the disciple making movement that Jesus started and commissioned unto followers. (Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2)
Disciple Making Ministries seeks to listen to the Holy Spirit who convicts, corrects, teaches, encourages, sanctifies, and empowers followers to build up the body of Christ unto maturity and spiritual fruitfulness. (Acts 1:8; John 14:26; Romans 15:13; Titus 3:5; Romans 15:16)
Disciple Making Ministries seeks to motivate believers towards ministries with the potential for multiplication. We believe Jesus was intentional and strategic about choosing discipleship as His method of multiplication. We believe there is multiplying power in investing one's life into a small group who are able to reproduce that life transformation process in others.
Disciple Making Ministries seeks ministries that are relational, relevant and reproducible. We believe that God has uniquely placed each believer into specific relational spheres of influence where they can be naturally speak into others' lives.
multiple entry and exit points
Disciple Making Ministries realized followers of Jesus are at various levels of spiritual maturity. We value their freedom to enter and to exit the process according to their desires. We believe the spiritual maturing process is not necessarily time dependent. If a person is willing to develop their relationship with God and step out in faith and obedience they can mature rapidly.
Disciple Making Ministries seeks methods that are inexpensive, flexible and easily reproducible. We avoid expensive buildings, formal seminary education programs, paid church staff, the necessity for fund-raising, etc. Invest your life into those in your spheres of influence in already available locations, with already available resources, and according to your available time schedules. Keep your job, family, friends, hobbies and seek to impact people in these natural spheres of influence.
Disciple Making Ministries seeks to be intentional and strategic in engaging, establishing, equipping and empowering followers who are faithful, available, teachable and dependent upon the Holy Spirit. It makes more sense to focus our time, energy and resources on those who are able, willing and empowered to start more disciple making movements. (2 Timothy 2:2)
